Melt Down

About the game

Melt Down drops you into a sunny park as a scoop of ice cream. The sun melts you a little every second, and the only relief is the shade of the clouds drifting overhead. Stand inside a shadow and you slowly freeze back up. Stay out in the sun too long and you melt into a sad puddle.

There is always one shadow fewer than there are scoops, and the cooling is shared: the more scoops crowd into one shadow, the slower each of them freezes. So you dash. Ram a rival and they bounce far across the grass, often straight into the sun. The shadows keep moving, wrap around the edges of the park and shrink every 30 seconds, so nobody gets to sit still for long.

The last scoop standing wins. If more than one survives the full two and a half minutes, the coldest scoop takes it. Grab the ice cubes that pop up in the sun for a quick boost. Play against one to three computer opponents on three difficulty levels, or share one keyboard or tablet with a friend in 2 Players mode.

How to play

1. The sun melts you (−8 per second). Stand in a cloud shadow to freeze back up.
2. Shade cooling is shared: alone you gain +3/s, two in one shadow get +1.5/s each.
3. Dash into a rival to knock them away, ideally out into the sun. Ice cubes give +25.
4. Shadows drift and shrink every 30 s. Last scoop standing wins, or the coldest one at 2:30.

Your scoop follows the mouse; click to dash. Or use WASD / arrow keys and Space. 2 Players: WASD + Space and Arrows + Enter.

Phone & tablet

Drag anywhere to move with the virtual stick and tap DASH. In 2 Players each player uses one half of the screen.
